SEMI-POLISHED

Up to now, SOBERITE was essentially finished by bush hammering.
On the request of some designer-architects and clients, we have developed a SEMI-POLISHED type treatment for our kerbstone and channel range, for two main reasons:

To play on the visual contrast between semi-polished and bush hammered finishes and reduce the soiling of the vertical part of the kerb.
Improve water flow, especially for roads and channels that are only slightly sloping.
On the ground, the challenge was how to improve flow without reducing slip resistance (safety aspect)
The material, its installation and finish have allowed us to obtain excellent results (see the test results in the "characteristics" section).

Characteristics

  • Friction coefficient test results up to NFP 18578 standard (CETE LYON)

  • Coefficient SRT - (Polished Stone Value PSV) varies from 0.65 to 0.76 according to the type of aggregate used.

  • The standard requires a coefficient of >0.45 for use in pedestrian zones.

(Test results available on request) The coefficients for SOBERITE bush hammered products vary from 0.84 to 0.89 under the same test conditions.

Reminder

Freeze-thaw test/ gritting salt (CERIB test on bush hammered paving stones):
mass of material removed by scaling kg/m2 <0,10 over 6 tests.
The NFP 98.307 standard requires a level of <1,0 kg/m2
